Lawson Robb Appointed to Design the Interiors of Superyacht ‘Phi’
Lawson Robb is delighted to announce that contracts have been signed for the building of Project Phi – a magnificently sensuous motor yacht of over 55 m / 180 ft with exterior design from the drawing board of Cor D. Rover, interior design by Lawson Robb and naval architecture by Van Oossanen Naval Architects.
Phi utilises an especially developed Fast Displacement XL ® hull form from Van Oossanen, which allowed this yacht to take such proportions and still remain under the 500 GT mark. Relating to ”Sectio divina” or the Golden Ratio, Phi is the formula that governs continuation of dimensions and shapes in natural proportions throughout the design.
From astronomical ideas and the solar system, the superyacht will encompass a fusion of creation throughout, harbouring designs, features and textures inspired by space, and full of the intention to provoke a sensation of what we know about the world we live in and what we do not.
Preliminary details available show a design, true to the philosophy, of a completely bespoke and highly detailed exterior, incorporating numerous beautifully and patented, technically innovative features.
