Lawson Robb goes in search of the unexpected for Project Phi
Lawson Robb’s design team recently undertook an expedition to Amsterdam to explore design concepts and manufacturing techniques to see how subtle transitional elements could be created for the scheme from naturally occurring forms and textures.
Phi refers to the ‘Divine Proportion’, a mathematical ‘Golden Ratio’ found organically in the living world and replicated in design to foster natural elements of beauty, both aesthetically pleasing to the eye and harmoniously proportionate.
From astronomical ideas and the solar system, the superyacht will encompass a fusion of creation throughout, harbouring designs, features and textures inspired by space, and full of the intention to provoke a sensation of what we know about the world we live in and what we do not.
