Development of Superyacht ‘Phi’

Yacht Harbour

May 28, 2019

Construction is in full development for the 55m Royal Huisman superyacht, Project ‘Phi’. Lawson Robb has been commissioned to design the interiors of this prestigious project.

Royal Huisman has recently released an update and images of the new superyacht ‘Phi’ that was first announced Summer 2018, featured in Yacht Harbour. Lawson Robb is delighted to see the progress of the construction for the 55-metre superyacht, as we continue to develop the interiors ahead of delivery in 2021.

Phi’s exterior will feature the design work of Cor D. Rover and her interiors will be designed by Lawson Robb. Further information regarding her definitive design is yet to be announced, however, concepts range from astronomical ideas and the solar system, to designs, features and textures inspired by space. Overall, the superyacht will be full of the intention to provoke a sensation of what we know about the world we live in and what we do not.

Construction on the aluminium hull of project Phi began in mid-February 2019 at the Royal Huisman Vollenhove shipyard, with hull turning scheduled for Summer 2019. The hull lines, based on the Van Oossanen Naval Architects’ Fast-Displacement XL® concept, enables project Phi to stay within the sub-500GT category.

With the owner’s brief prioritising the interior spaces, Phi will be capable to host a total of 12 guests on-board, with staff quarters big enough for 11 crew, and plenty of outer deck space.
