Maison et Objet 2020: Our Design Round-Up

This week some of the Lawson Robb interior designers visited Maison et Objet in Paris. The trade fair is held in January every year and is one of the leading fairs for design and decoration. With over 6000 brands exhibiting at the event, we spent time sourcing for our current projects as well as finding inspiration and looking out for new trends.We have selected our top furniture pieces and key trends from this year’s fair.Top Pieces from Maison et Objet 2020Assemble Sofa by Valerie ObjectsThe Assemble sofa encourages people to assemble your own sofa. The asymmetrical cushions are assembled into difference sofa elements creating a range of options such a single/double seater, corner elements poufs and side tables. Its form was inspired by weathered pebble stones and ground glass.

Rudi Leather Baskets by Gio BagnaraThe leather baskets from Gio Bagnara’s Rudi range are made from Tecnocuoio, a special regenerated leather. The innovative leather is made from 65% leather castoffs tanned with vegetable extracts as well as other natural materials to ensure that its production technique adheres to a zero-waste philosophy. The leather Is both UV-resistant and water resistant making it the perfect accessory on a superyacht.

Nomon Unica Escritorio Desk by Dopo DomaniThe Unica Escritorio desk is a contemporary piece of furniture inspired by modern design classics. The solid walnut desk comes in two options with some free and freestanding shelves which rotate to provide versality and functionality.

Shifting Colours by FurstenbergShifting colours is a colourful design based on colourful surfaces. The gentle lines and shifting colours are inspired by an Argentinian passion and swiss precision to create a distinctive table setting. The tableware is both functional and purposeful, while also being intuitive and organic ensuring that it suits modern lifestyles with a timeless touch.
